Anchor of Hope was born out of a desire to offer authentic, holistic care to clients in a meaningful way that will address all domains of health within each person: mind, body and spirit. After working as a registered nurse in the specialty field of psychiatric and mental health nursing in both a military setting and then within community and civilian hospital settings as a mental health clinician, Troy Reeves established Anchor of Hope in the summer of 2017. Passionately working holistically for the past decade of nursing, Troy later pursued a second post-graduate specialty in faith community nursing (aka Parish Nursing) to continue in his commitment to meet clients where they are at, regardless of their background or adherence to or lack of faith.
We strive to
Be a place of wellness that offers counselling services, recovery in Addiction, therapy and support in a way that addresses all three domains of health, through the lens of a nurse, and adjusted by the experiences and desires of the client.
Navigate the complex storms of each client's journey in a co-occurring disorder model, understanding the impact of Addiction on a person's mental health and how mental health concerns drive the disease of Addiction.
Meet a growing need and shortage of counselling services in and around the Airdrie, AB and Steinbach, MB areas and to further reduce wait-times in and around the cities to better improve health care delivery for everyone in need.

Calen’s interest in the holistic nature of mind, body and spirit was born out of experience within competitive hockey. He believes that impactful counselling, therapy, and coaching involves working with both the mind and the emotional experiences accumulated in the body. Each client has a unique road to emotional processing and healing. He provides a supportive environment for clients to achieve their therapeutic aims and desires informed by a solution- focused, narrative and client-centered approach. Calen believes the quality of our lives is largely dependent on the quality of our relationships and is hopeful that he can build a genuine and meaningful therapeutic alliance. Aligned with his advocacy for more accessible counselling, the services are offered at sliding-scale fees.
