Troy Reeves founded Anchor of Hope out of a desire to offer authentic, holistic care to clients in a meaningful way that will address all domains of health within each person: mind, body and spirit.  After working as a registered nurse in the specialty field of psychiatric and mental health nursing in both a military setting and then within community and civilian hospital settings as a mental health clinician, Troy Reeves established Anchor of Hope in the fall of 2017. Passionately working holistically for the past decade of nursing, Troy later pursued a second and third post-graduate specialty in faith community nursing (aka Parish Nursing) as well as executive coaching to continue in his commitment to meet clients where they are at, regardless of their background or adherence to or lack of faith. In his free time, Troy enjoys practicing his board gaming skills with friends and family!

Born out of a desire to feel better and find answers to her personal health issues, Melissa Reeves ventured into the realm of Health and Wellness, studying psychology as her undergrad, then immersing herself in aromatherapy, nutrition, and now holistic health with a heavy emphasis on infrared sauna health benefits, bioavailable supplementation, homeopathics and health coaching. Co-founder of Anchor of Hope, both her and her husband Troy are passionate about adding value to others across a holistic spectrum involving the body, the spirit, and the mind. When not reading books on health, Melissa enjoys spending time in the sunshine and all things creative!

Yvonne Heinrichs

Yvonne comes highly recommended to our clinical team with several years of experience spanning the fields of addiction, geriatrics, and psychosocial oncology. Throughout her counselling career, Yvonne believes that each person is a unique individual who deserves a personalized, non-judgmental therapeutic approach combined with genuine compassion, care, respect and validation in their life challenges. Life has its ups and downs, so during these difficult times, Yvonne’s goal is to walk alongside her clients in assisting them with their decision-making capabilities about how to best take care of themselves by exploring positive, healthy informed choices that will enhance their mental health using a holistic (mind-body-spirit) person-centered approach. In her free time, Yvonne loves to play games, read, go hiking and socialize with others.

Yvonne’s specialty areas of practice include (although not limited to): depression, anxiety, conflict resolution, grief and loss, addictions, emotional regulation and stress / challenges in life.

For many years, Nancy has had the privilege of walking with individuals and families through some of life’s toughest seasons. These experiences have shaped not only Nancy’s work but also her sense of purpose. From supporting children and navigating the challenges of separation and divorce to promoting mental and emotional wellness, Nancy offers both professional expertise and lived experience that informs everything she does.

Nancy holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Saskatchewan, as well as certification in NeurOptimal Brain Training. She has also completed her Mediation Certificate to further strengthen the support she offers.

At the heart of Nancy’s work is a passion for helping people grow into their fullest potential—feeling seen, empowered, and truly alive in the relationships that matter most.

RAPID PAIN THERAPY

Jenessa Westervelt

Jenessa is a dedicated and experienced therapist who graduated from the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba in 2007. While she gained invaluable experience through massage therapy, she soon realized that it didn’t always provide the comprehensive solutions her clients needed. In 2019, Jenessa expanded her skill set by pursuing training in RAPID Neurofascial Reset, a revolutionary technique that has allowed her to help clients with pain in ways that traditional massage could not.

Through RAPID, Jenessa has been able to address a broader range of pain-related issues, offering faster, more effective relief. Her passion for helping others drives her to continuously improve her skills, and with RAPID, she is committed to delivering the lasting pain relief her clients are seeking.

Laura Garcia Stewart

Laura is a Christian Mayan Indigenous therapist with a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Manitoba. She is trained and licensed as a Focuser (Focus-Oriented and Trauma-Informed therapist) and has been offering therapeutic services in Manitoba for over 10 years.

Laura practices using both Indigenous and Western knowledge systems to understand and address a client’s needs, often referred to as a Two-Eyed Seeing Approach. She also utilizes somatic modalities that are experiential in nature. She values sitting with people in a visiting way—curiously navigating and exploring the complexities of life. Laura believes deeply in the transformative power that comes from being genuinely felt and seen within the therapeutic relationship.
